I am not too good at that ‘arty’ stuff. Mrs CFB, whilst claiming she chooses nothing, will doubtless choose everything. Mandie has already purchased matching curtains from next for both Kitchen Diner and Dining Room
.

We have two very nice Jamie Medlyn Prints of Kynance Cove and also, Point. These have red board cards and are rather treasured.

We have a very large multi image collage of our boys that would have cost hundreds... but the photographer owed us and therefore did as a ‘goodwill gesture’ in lieu. The boys are in red clothing on a white background. We currently have nowhere to hang it.

We have a red leather corner chair that cost a fortune 9 years ago, but has never had a place in our latest house (4 years)

We call it the ‘I chair’ as it cost exactly the same as an IPAD. We could only afford one or other and chose the chair. The boys were mortified.

We have a very nice, modern oak table with 6 chairs.

We have a lovely, grey painted oak sideboard for best crockery, cutlery, place mats etc.

All of the above are sacrosanct. Mandie is looking at a medium gray carpet, One grey wall and three lighter grey walls.

That sounds really lovely, can’t wait to see it. Lot of thought gone into it with plenty of personal touches.
Look forward to seeing the end result!

UPDATE UPDATE!

I now have after a further 2 days...

Lots of holes in the wall between my kitchen and new dining area that is soon to be knocked out.

Lintels in place and setting in to position at the top of what will be the doorway aperture.

Really impressed with the work thus far. The good news was that of the double skinned wall, the inner blocks are ‘thermal’, much lighter and also far more easy to cut and drill.

Great progress made, I know less than little about building and materials but looking forward to next steps

I know bits.. but am learning lots. By the time that they are finished, I am confident that I would be able to replicate their effort... other than the plastering and render with K Rend... Tried both in the past and I was a miserable failure!

CFB. It's not a good use of a tungsten hand saw but for £7 you can actually saw out the blockwork openings. So much easier than smashing it all out. Kills the saw but well worth a few quid.

He has now drilled down both sides and is just about to bolster it out. As he is on a fixed price, I think that I will leave him to it. They are coming out rather fast.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE.

The hole between kitchen and garage has now been knocked through.

It has been established that the garage floor is 90mm lower than the kitchen floor.. ideal for insulation and floor to be inserted.

The walls are now complete.

The remaining garage has had its plasterboard doubled as per the architectural drawings.

The first fit of the ring main has now been installed.

The window is now in!

All in all, pretty good after a further 4 days hard work.

Looks good. It looks as though there will be plenty of natural light coming in too which is good.

Did make me laugh looked in the picture as though you can park a red car sideways in your garage. A nifty space saving trick !

To be fair, I almost could! its a Seat Mii (A VW Up in disguise). Although it has 5 doors, it is tiny.

The room will be 14'2'' x 8'2'' and the window fairly large (albeit multi pane) 6' x 3'. In addition, the double doors into the Kitchen are glass panelled and close to a Kitchen Window.. There should be plenty of natural light.
