If there is a planning application submitted there should be drawings on the Council's website so you can see what it would look like.

If it is one of the masts like below, I'm probably wouldn't have any issue with it. There is no evidence that there are any biological or physiological impacts of them being in residential areas. Unless you walk around looking up, these ones no not really create an eyesore. House value wise, a good mobile signal probably outweighs being able to see one of these out of the window.

Now if it were one of the big lattice framed ones then it will be more of an eye sore, but unlikely if it is a small piece of ground.

There are objections to nearly every mast and very very few are upheld. You can try but unlikely to succeed. Lots of local news websites have reports on the planning permission objections, so maybe see what they have complained about.

if it is on council land they will be getting rental form the network provider and will likely ignore most complaints against it for this reason alone. The emitted radiation a few meters from the mast is less than you will be exposed to using your own mobile phone next to your head...

I wouldn't wast to much time and effort with the objection it will more than likely fail as it will be classed as critical infrastructure anyway.

There's one of these on a triangle of grass out on the main road, the residents nearby opposed it but it's still there. Have you seen the pretend tree ones? I think they are almost worse. There's still no signal on a lot of roads in the Forest, you know exactly where you most need one.

Thanks for the info and picture. The one they are proposing is feet away from the house so much closer than the one in the picture. The small area of grass has a pavement between it and the road, and parking is a nightmare so they would have to either go over the pavement to install it which is usually filled with cars or put a slip in and take more spaces away, plus drive onto the grass or concrete it.

I don't have any concerns about radiation etc, but a neighbour said they tried to do the same in a similar space area in Watford and after a 200 signature petition it was rejected (not sure if the petition helped).

It won't be the end of the world if it happens, but I really can't believe they would even consider it on such a small area of grass. The neighbour adjacent to the grass offered to buy it years ago and extend his garden, but the council said he could lease it which he initially agreed to do, but they would only allow him to have a 3' fence around it because it would other spoil the look of the area if he put a 6' fence around it (he told them to stuff it). So no 6' fence allowed, but a 59' mast is okay

Yes get your Mum and all the neighbours to object. It should then have to go to a full planning committee and not just get pushed through.
How about calling an independent planning consultant, they don't come cheap but I think that mast will devalue property.

That is not a planning matter. You need to look at things like clutter if there are other street furniture nearby. Or out of character and detrimental to visual amenity.

Good grounds to object on?

The biggest problem she will have is if she uses freeview for her tv picture and not sky or freesat it will cause massive problems being so close.

I think these are an eyesore. There’s a couple near here right outside houses (not mine fortunately) and they look awful.
