Advice please
We booked a cottage in Wales for a big family holiday ( for 15th August , 3 families ) .
Now the area we live in has been put into extra lockdown meaning more restrictions meaning that we can Not get together with family 🤦. We booked through Hoseasons but can not get in touch with them at all , both phone or email. Does anyone know where we stand with cancelling as actually the cottage is available and Hoseasons aren’t actually cancelling it but in the same sense we can’t legally go because of new restrictions ! We have tried ringing insurance but they are saying we need to speak to Hoseasons but can’t ! Thanks in advance |

Surely the whole point of extra restrictions in an area is to stop the virus spreading to areas where it’s not as prevalent? The OP is surely being sensible.

The additional lockdown measures for some areas mean that you can't travel to another area and stay with people from outside your household / bubble.

I think the OP is being very sensible in following government advice to stop the spread of the virus. Cant believe people would ignore this advice, the virus will never go away if people dont adhere to advice given. I wouldn't like people visiting my local area from an area that should be in lockdown.
I hope you get the booking sorted OP, have you got travel insurance?

Mark Drakeford, our First Minister, responded to questions this week about travelling from Wales to affected areas in NW England.
Suggestion was to limit your journey to essential travel only. My guess is your situation is the reverse ? Do you have a restriction how far away from home you may travel, or a limit to how many separate households in your car ? If not, once you cross into Wales, our law applies. Presently, you can come to Wales to enjoy your Hoseasons break. I'm not commenting on whether you should that's up to you. |
