engadget/mulan-disne...205328159.html
Not sure would pay that sort of cash for something I would not "own". |

30 bucks?! No way .
Although I am not a Mulan fan so probably wouldn’t watch this even if it was free . Couldn’t imagine paying $30 to watch any film at home, really .. |

The article says you have access to the film for as long as you have a Disney + subscription, but unless they change the business model, the film would come to "regular" subscribers (who have not paid penny extra) a few months later, surely?

I guess if you have a large family it's cheaper than the cinema - but not worth it for the two of us. I'll wait till it's free!

It’s not even worth it for the four of us! Not without the full cinema experience! Think they’re trying to recoup losses. I’m hoping not many people will pay that much and they’ll realise they’ve misread the market. They might then put it on for free later

Actually re-reading the story it talks about going to cinemas if they are open in that country, OR else it will go to Disney +

I suppose its an attempt to get back the cost. No idea why they couldn't just wait until cinemas will be open again. I for one won't be paying extra to watch it.

At $200 million to make, they have to recoup some costs some how.
Disney, the film industry in general, are not immune to the financial hit of the pandemic. I appreciate it's a case of you pays your money, you takes your choice, and not everyone will deem it value, but the folks I've seen whining on FB about it (not saying it's applicable here) and boasting they'll just firestick it, well they're the reason prices are what they are (for blu-rays or PVOD)... Ditto for illegally streaming music, theft is theft... People need to earn a living, can't do that if products have no value. |
