Gap at top of French doors

Am I going crazy?

When I shut the door there is a massive gap at the top.

I then pull the handle up which isn’t smooth it’s quite stiff to do like the door isn’t coming far enough in and it’s pulls the door a lot, locks and closes the gap.

This is the fourth time I have had this issue.

The first time the gap was there even when locked. The rest of the times they just adjusted the door hinges. Then it seemed perfect for a few weeks then what I would assume “dropped” again.

I now have a window guy out to fix it. He’s doing toe and heel but he seems to think it’s normal that there is this massive gap when the door is closed but not locked.

Anyone have any ideas

A common fault caused by the side frames being installed by relying on a spirit level only instead of doing one side spot on then for the other side 'sighting' it in by eye.
That way it is spot on, with a level there is a tiny variation that shows up when closing them and problems locking it.

They have just left
This is how the gap in the door is now

Which is brilliant. Just how I think it should be.
What worries me is that this is the fourth time now my door is fixed. Not sure what to do next time if it happens again
