we have used Alamo and Hertz. Alamo gave us newer car. We felt the car given by Hertz was level below what we paid

Hertz - having used most others now use only hertz as they are the only ones who can supply, without any drama, hand-controls fitted to right hand side of the steering wheel.

As things stand with their newer fleet, the option to skip the counter and most importantly the ability to pick your own car - Alamo

^^This^^ Plus a poor experience with Dollar at San Diego means I'd rather pay a little more and stick to Alamo.

For the same reasons as Mr Tom, plus I had a bad rental with Dollar at Sanford. Budget were actually ok but didn't get to pick my car so Alamo wins hands down for me.

Alamo via VA or VH allows me to do Virgin OLCI which in my opinion is the easiest skip the counter system. Also Alamo fleet at MCO is huge and garage reps are Norma lily very helpful. In the past they have gone to the other garage and brought back cars for me when none in the line.

Sometime not the cheapest, burn always the best, having hired from Budget and Doller in the distant past.

You tend to find people have a good experience with one and stick with it. We've used Dollar, Alamo and Hertz and will never use Dollar again. Alamo were fine and I would consider them but we tend to use Hertz as we've always had good service, they tend to work out cheaper with the AA discount and I never get the hard sell.
