Good Morning Britain Debate

Anyone watch it this morning when they were discussing the situation of a man identifying as a woman entering the Olympics in the women's categories, as usual it got pretty heated, I couldn't get my head round it all as it raised several valid but also conflicting points.
Seeing as it not only involved sport being the olympics, politics as Lisa Nandy was involved in the debate and tv and film seeing as it was a tv programme I have put it in general chat.
Just wondering what the general opinion is on this, surely it cannot be allowed for various reasons.

I am all for equality but a man identifying as a woman competing again biologically female women should not be allowed. They immediately have a physical advantage and for me that is akin to taking performance enhancing drugs. I know many don’t agree with me and that is fine. I look at it from the point of the women who have trained bleddy hard for years to compete in the Olympics only to be trounced by a biological male. Simply unfair.

already happening & will imo (yes my opinion) bring down womans sports

Rachel McKinnon is a trans track cyclist woman's world champion (in her age group)

lived & competed as a man till aged 29 & without question has a physical advantage

###'all imo of course & in no way meant to offend anyone###

2 Things...

1. Lisa Nandy’s refusal to answer a simple question for fear of the answer affecting her political ambitions

2. The worlds gone nuts

Why ?

Men and women should be allowed to compete in all sports.
Same as in motor racing (under the rules men can compete in Formula W) wherein if you are good enough you can compete.

Women's sports should all be integrated into men's sports, with no need for gender recognition approval certificates, and suchlike. This will encourage trans-inclusivity in all sports.
Women deserve more than being patronised by special competitions based on sexual orientation.

To achieve true equality all sports should be open to all.

That really stood out this morning, I know Piers Morgan doesn't do himself any favours but this morning he raised some valid points, she tried her hardest to get him to apologise, apologise for what though? he had her backed into a corner because she wouldn't answer a simple question.

Isn't there a rule in Athletics whereby anyone above a certain level of testosterone cannot compete in female events, think it came about the other year because of the South African athlete, so in theory that could stop men indetifying and females from competing

patronised !

so in the vast majority of physical sports (motor racing isnt a physical sportt imo) men will dominate 99.99% of these events

who would benefit from that? no women for a start

That's a completely different issue as at the moment many sports are separated so the discussion is should a man identifying as a woman be able to compete in female events

Is it equal though for a male to go up against a female in certain sports?
you yourself have just said sport should be integrated but surely this will wipe out certain female sports based on strength .
