Thanks for the input. I work in payroll and we will obviously have to bring all these people on to be paid. At the moment 10% of our team is self isolating but should be tested soon to see if she can return. There is also talk of remote working, hopefully that can be made to work.

My SIL works in Payroll for one area if the HSE (our health service) They are trying to get home working set up. The administration effort that is behind the scenes that needs support but I believe that is also being factored in into the callout here.

I'm not retired but returned to practice in 2016 after 16 years out, just to say, that if there is anyone who wants to go back but is scared, my hospital were really good at looking after us, whilst I know these are unique times so normal may not apply, there were lots in place to help you ease back in.

Good luck to anyone who does take the plunge, the responsibility after a break is terrifying.

I'm still working aged 59 part time 3 days a week, in Pulmonary rehab so all of our face to face contact has been stopped and patients have been given home exercise programmes to follow with us telephoning
Support

I was a practice nurse for years prior to transferring to respiratory team and haven't worked on a ward since 1996
I'm wondering whether I'd actually be fit enough to manage a 12 hr ward shift

I've not done any 12 hour shifts, I'm not convinced that i'd still be safe after that long! I just do regular 7.5 hour shifts. They need us so are happy to accommodate us.

I work in NHS recruitment / bank and agency staffing.

If you think you may want to help in the coming weeks or want the option to please let them know now so you can start the process. My team is already super super busy and we've now had mass recruitment drive landed on us too with people expecting to be instantly processed and ready to work - why this wasn't swung into action 3/4 weeks ago is beyond me.

So why have you changed your mind,I remember you saying you would jump at the opportunity ,strange how a couple of weeks and now from a clinical role to a admin one

Because I'm now at my daughters and due to school closures will be childcare for foreseeable future

My trust does not want anyone who has been out of clinical practice for more than 3 years. I've been out of clinical practise for 6. Nothing strange, are you trying to infer something? If so, please dont make veiled comments, just say it.
