I understand that they are trying to survive, but I think that Emirates Holidays (like others) have got a real cheek expecting to pocket people’s money, not provide the services and expect the insurance industry to pick up the cost! Effectively they are expecting insurance companies to keep them afloat.
That is not the purpose of insurance and I would certainly expect (and hope) that the insurer sends customers back to the holiday company. You are entitled to a refund from Emirates, this is not an insurance claim. |

Thanks for this thread..we are meant to be going in May..I cannot get through to them at all to ask what the options are if they are still not letting people in.
I now know what they are trying to do and will just have to wait nearer the time now. Edited at 01:00 AM. |

We’re due to travel on a package deal with Emirates to Dubai on 27th May and have just received an email saying they’re cancelling 🙁 No offer of a refund though, the email states they’ll be sending a credit note to the lead passenger, going to email later to ask for a cash refund and see what they say.

Flights, car hire and overnight at the Gatwick Hilton booked with BA Holidays departing 18th March. Email received cancelling everything on the 17th March and the full refund was in my credit card account Friday 20th March. Now that's the sort of service Emirates should be offering.

Just thought I would post an update. I had raised a section 75 and complained to ABTA but kept on trying to get hold of Emirates with lots of emails in the meantime.
They processed a refund for both holidays yesterday which I have received emailed confirmation for and they say it will be in our account within 4 weeks. So thank you for your advice to keep chasing it up. Good luck everyone else with refunds too, it was worth persisting with. The best advice is always on The Dibb. I find it much more useful than a Which subscription lol

If any one is offered a voucher then according to the ABTA website if you haven't used it by 31st Jul 2020 then you are entitled to a cash refund. If the business goes bust you can claim the cash from ABTA/ATOL. You need to make sure that the company issuing the voucher follows the rules laid down by ABTA which include being issued a new ATOL certificate.

Good to know, I have a flight only booked with them and the flights have cancelled, I’m currently waiting on my options from last minute.com however according to the Emirates website they are only issuing voucher which I’m not sure I want due to not knowing if I can even go within he next year due to my son being in his gcse year.
