Similar regards TUI

Due to fly a week this Tuesday and not a jot of correspondence from them.Although its still showing check in online you,ll find when you attempt it will tell your seats are not available

Our booking is still live and attempted check in online out of curiousity last week and got that message

They've always changed the 747 to an A330 in the quieter months on the route

I asked Virgin about the bubble seats I'd bought for our August flights. Here is their response.

"There is a response to your open inquiry:

We're unsure at the moment but will let you know if you're affected."

Noticed they only have premium and upper class for sale on these flights now. No economy.

Ah right, we have never gone that early, usually middle of May and September, usually fly indirect with BA to be honest but got flights direct with virgin out of Glasgow this sept for £405 return and paid extra for bubble, bubbles burst on this flight in more ways than one though

Those bubble seats will almost certainly be gone now I am afraid.

They are only selling UC and PE as the replacement planes have less economy capacity so on fairly full flights transferring from the 747 to (for example) the A330-200 will be a challenge. PE is smaller too, but depends on how full that cabin is.

Many flights, they are only selling UC - that is because the replacement planes have more UC capacity than the 747.

I can't be 100% certain, but I'd be looking at the seat map for the A330-200 and work out which seats you would prefer in that config. Then when they make a plane and/or schedule change you'll be ready to make your seat assignments. Assuming VA haven't already done it for you, and everyone else.

Have a look on seat guru, then watch a couple of YouTube vids.

I know what works best for our family of 4 but UC is a 'unique' configuration on the A330-200, so may not work for everyone in the same way.

Be aware that there is also the A330-300 which has a very different UC config, but unlikely to be used for our bucket and spade routes.

PE looks really poor to be honest. 17.7" seat width (same as economy) and 2" less pitch than the 747
