DD is doing A-Levels and has been told that 18th June is her last official day, although I suspect that as all of her assessments, coursework and necessary evidence will be complete before then, she'll finish earlier.
The 18th is the final date for grade submissions so the teachers will have to have gathered everything in at least a week or two before, surely?!
I suppose they just need to ensure that they're around ie in the country, in case they suddenly discover they need more evidence or something...

Might vary on the school? Frank Spencer (GW) did mention that the kids would have the option to take the exams in the Autumn if they were not happy with the teacher results, so they could used the extra time to cover anything missed? My daughter is at an academy school, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they do this.

Dd did one of her a levels last autumn, so sounds similar to last year... went from teacher predicted C to an A.

They were not given any extra teaching though.
