We take cash and card. Kids money is always cash. Will do the same next trip. I think I read a post on here where it said everywhere was still accepting cash so that's good.

For as long I can remember, we take a token small quantity of cash - $100 or so - and use credit cards for everything. The cash is there "just in case".

I can't see that changing.

Definitely cash up to insurance allowance for us.
Always pay for fuel with cash and tip with cash .
We don’t eat onsite at all or even go to Orlando every year 😀
I have had experience of having both cards stopped at the same time in the US ( for trying to buy an Xbox from game in the uk as a gift ) so that was a bit of a heartstopper trying to get them unlocked !
I have actually had my card stopped 3 times in the last couple of weeks by NatWest which could indicate they are being even more proactive than usual. Which I am very glad about.

We’re usually 90% cash. I think this trip it’ll probably more 50/50

Places here have been encouraging card use due to "a national coin shortage". Covid is obviously an issue too. However I can't remember seeing anywhere that actually refused to take cash.

I personally use cards for everything and barely even carry cash. I have never had a problem with anywhere being cash only or card machines not working. Even the stalls at farmers' markets now take cards.

Restaurant servers still routinely take your card to the till to run it. I have never had an issue with this nor with my card being cloned at a gas station. As I have US cards, pay at the pump always works for me.

Good job I've got all my state quarters Donna.

Still looking for a USVI one though.

Have taken cash on all my trips to Disney. Petrol, supermarkets, restaurants and parking. CC for bigger spends. I have a JaJa CC (old post office CC) which do not make any transaction charges on any spend. Cash withdrawals are charged. Next trip 2022 will be exactly the same.
Like Mick, take out the cash we need for the day (rest in villa safe) and CC always a back up if needed.

Unless they are new dollars I wouldn't be doing that...

We were told that many "men" store dollars in their underpants to avoid muggings etc in certain locations and that is what gives "old money" some of its characteristic smell

"If you don’t wash your hands after handling money, you may want to rethink that decision. Research has found most money contains fecal matter and other potentially pathogenic organisms. A study published in Southern Medical Journal reported the presence of disease-causing agents in about 94% of the bills tested. "

Cash is king. Credit card only used for emergencies or for car hire/hotels where required.
