onsite or extra space?

I've just been playing with Bon-Voyage's Quote builder, I love playing with it 'cause it's dead easy.

Anyway, I've got a few choices

5/12/2003 - 15/12/2003 Homewood Suites Intl Drive, Orlando (10 nights)
1 x 1 bed suite - sleeps 4 £490.00

5/12/2003 - 15/12/2003 Orlando Townhome without pool, Orlando (10 nights)
1 x 2 bedroom townhome, sleeps 4 £500.00

5/12/2003 - 15/12/2003 Grosvenor Resort, Lake Buena Vista (10 nights)
1 x Triple £630.00

5/12/2003 - 15/12/2003 Standard Home without pool, Orlando (10 nights)
1 x 2 bedroom home, sleeps 4 £500.00

5/12/2003 - 15/12/2003 Walt Disney All Star MOVIES Resort, Lake Buena Vista (10 nights)
1 x Triple £750.00
I don't know where the townhome or Standard home is until I ring them, I wouldn't book without at least knowing the estate before we went.

So what do you think, Is All Stars worth an extra £250? or the Grosvenor which is at Downtown Disney?
All the other options have a kitchen and at least a seperate bedroom, where as the 2 most expensive would give us the least in terms of facilities, but maybe more 'magic'

What would you do?

Bev I can't help you as regards staying on site. I do know that having your own private home is great. No noisy neighbours in the room next door, and the space is excellent. But then you don't get daily maid service!
Hope you decide soon and let us all know

Bev,
have stayed at ALL Stars and the rooms are small compared to other hotels, but they are adequate.
If your getting AP's then at that time of year you should get AP discounts on ALL Stars, so it could work out cheaper.

is on-site worth the extra, this depends on what value you put on the extras like, Disney Themeing, Early Entry, E-Nights, Transport, etc.

I'm trying to make a similar decision myself.

We've always just had a "room" before, and the only deciding factor as to where, was basically how much it cost.

This year we've experienced the wonders of a separate bedroom and a full kitchen with washer/dryer. Wouldn't do anything else if there was more than two of us again.
Next year our last 10 nights will be at Beach Club villas, and rather than going for the studio we'll have the one bedroom unit, to give us all the above mentioned. All I have to decide now, is where to stay for the first 6 nights. As the first one falls rather close to Thanksgiving, it's complicated by that as well.

I might go and have a look on Bon Voyage, get myself an idea. Not that any of this helps you at all Bev, but I do like to have a good ramble sometimes

LOL Carole, thanks for the ramble... Beach Club Villa's sound ideal, just the slight matter of the DVC membership first.

I was quite sold on the 'disney magic' of on-site, but last year, I did miss all the extras like a kitchen and a washer, when we moved out of the villa and into AKL. BUT, I did love AKL, so it's just so hard to decide which way to go.

Bev,

I wouldn't really reccomend The Grosvenor. When we stayed there it had all convention people there and I didn't see any families. There is no room at all in the rooms besides the beds. The only plus that I can see is that you can walk to Downtown Disney.I didn't feel any 'magic' there except at night you could see the lasers from Planey Hollywood, that was the only magicy thing PM me if theres anything specific about The Grosvenor you need to know

we absolutely loved ASMO and im my honest opinion it was well worth the extra cost for us. It was so convieniant being on site and the "magic" was really special even without EE

I cant compare it to having a villa but compared to the 2 4* hotels i've stayed in on I-Drive there really is no comparison.

Can you tell i liked ASMO ?

Onsite would get our vote!

We just love the 'complete' Disney experience of staying onsite!
