A question for you DVC people.
We are travelling down from Orlando to Miami on our next trip and were wondering about visiting Vero Beach Resort to break the journey (and still trying to persuade DH to buy in!., perhaps get some lunch, is this allowed? We wouldnt want to do a presentation or anything like that though. Is it even worth doing or should we think of somewhere else to stop? Thanks.

Hi Mo, we have stayed at VB for a week in November, a couple of years ago. It is a lovely resort, quiet and peaceful, at least at that time of the year. The rooms (we had a studio) are very pretty and I commented on this the second I walked through the door. As you might know, it is right on the ocean and it's good to hear the waves on the beach. We didn't find a huge amount to do in the area (without spending quite a bit of money) but if you want more info on this, can I suggest that you go to the DVC board on the DIS and do a search. We were also disappointed with the food; it wasn't cheap and not to our liking, but then we like quite plain food so that is our fault and no-one elses.
We would certainly go back for a couple of days or three for a bit of a rest because we did enjoy it, despite what I've just said! |

Hi Mo, we're DVC members and have points at VB. Yes you can stop and have some lunch shouldn't be problem. Try the Green Cabin room-- its the small bar upstairs. Best bet is to sit out on the balcony overlooking the Atlantic ocean and listen to those waves whilst you're having drinks and some lunch - standard barfood. There's another restaurant called Shutters and Lunch is served 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m - sandwiches, pasta and pizza etc, but the bar has a nicer view.
Just checked the DVC site for you - A limited lunch menu is offered 11:30am to 3pm, with an appetizer menu available 3pm to 10pm - at the Green Cabin room. You'll love it - go and enjoy - you won't want to leave... Any Questions just ask or drop me a PM... . jj... . |

Thanks folks, its just an idea at the moment but we will need to break the journey somewhere and I'd rather know where before hand.
Do you get a pass like at the Poly etc or do you just tell them you are visiting at the gate?
