I don’t like NY either lol, it wasn’t dirty when we went but it was very, very noisy 24 hours a day and the people have no manners at all - let doors close in your face, never say thank you if you let them go first etc.
But then we never go to the US to visit cities, we go for the national parks etc and just use the nearest city as an airport stop.

We are staying in the Cosmopolitan at the end of our California tour.
Doing Hollywood/Disney for DD 16th ending in Vegas for DH 50th.
We have had over 25 visits to Florida and decided to do California... for Easter. I’m really feeling out of my comfort zone.
As we have never been before we can’t compare to anything else...
I have a feeling we will either love it or hate it, don’t think there will be an in between.

The Cosmo is a fantastic hotel!

I expected to hate Vegas , but actually I love it but five days is my limit so it's either a long weekend or combined with somewhere else.
We once had to stay a week when an event we were attending in Utah changed dates and it didn't make sense to leave Vegas until a few days later to attend it. We were all glad to leave as we had enough

New York on the other hand I find cleaner than London (and I'm a Londoner born and bred).

Went there in 2008 definitely not in a rush to go back. We're all different and enjoy different places.
