Are room numbers given when checking in online at AKL?

As others have said, a savannah view is a separate category of room so unless you have booked this category, you would need to pay to upgrade or hope for some pixie dust.

I think this would only work if you have been texted to say that your room is ready.

Yes you can indeed - so long as you check in online. We did exactly this in May, checked in online and when I was in MCO I got an email and message on MDE saying that my room was ready, the room number and block. We got a Minnie van straight to our block from MCO - never went near the lobby until day 3 as it happens.

Well yes if they want those then they will need to go to the lobby but you don’t need to if you don’t want to pick those up on arrival. You can scan your phone on the door or use old magicbands if you have them from previous trips. If they want them before they go to their room then there’s no massive advantage to online check in aside from requests but you can do these regardless of check in I think as the room is allocated a few days before. The only difference is if they want to go straight there or not.

We used touring plans to request where we wanted to stay as well as online check in. Got great side savannah room view for price of a standard room. Though it was a long walk to lobby.
