Highlander Day11 Vegas Highlights

Sunday 26th October
I was up around 7 so I headed over to Hooters and spent a couple of hours their and even left up thanks to the Dukes of Hazard slots, I headed back to the room around 9:30 and DW and son where up and eating breakie, I had a bagel then we headed over to New York to ride the coaster our Vegas power pass gives us one ride each DW chooses not to ride so its just me and Danny and it was fun a bit bumpy though, Danny declined a second ride though, we then watched the lions at MGM again, before getting the monorail up to the Sahara at the end of the strip.

At the Sahara we had intended to do their rides with our passes but they where down for the season so that was a bummer and I must admit although the pass is convenient with no Star Trek, no Luxor attractions and now no Sahara its not great value for 5 days

After a wander around the Nascar store we head over to the Stratosphere, now this part of the strip looks pretty dodgy with quite a few drunks begging not sure I'd walk here at night, we use our passes to get tickets for the tower at the Stratosphere we don't want any ride tickets though, the views from the tower are amazing, Danny gets a hot chocolate from Starbucks and we just enjoy the views while he drinks it


Both myself and DW join their players club but we won nothing with our big spin, I did win on their slots though and their drinks service was good we then got the monorail down to Miracle Mile shops, we wanted to use our passes to see the Pet theater show at the V theater the show was okay but pretty dated and cheesy, after the show I picked up our Ultimate Variety show tix I had booked VIP tix with dinner for this show, their where a few places that you could use your vouchers for dinner but DS wanted to Fajitas so it was La Salsa a Mexican restaurant we chose for dinner, now service here was dire but to be honest we didn't bother as we where all pretty chilled by now, the food was good though, I ordered the Burrito and DW & DS both had chicken fajitas, after dinner we had a mooch around the shops, they had a type of 7-11 shop in the mall sold juice etc and souvenirs pretty good prices Danny bought a poker set from here and I got some gifts for my staff back home, I then got a cocktail from the V bar as these where the only drinks allowed in the theater it cost $15 and was huge refill's where $10

it did give me brain freeze quite a few times but was very nice, the show itself was great and although its a small theater this show is very good and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a good variety show, their was music, comedy, magic, dancing, acrobats and audience participation a really fun show after the show finished it was around 8:30pm and we'd been out since 10am, we decided to head back to our hotel the plan was to change and get a taxi downtown to the light show, I get a refill for my now finished cocktail much to Danny's disgust, we wander back but once back at the room its decided to watch TV although DW does do most of the packing as tomorrow is our last day, we are all asleep for midnight

Another great day, i stayed at The Stratosphere 5 years ago, you are right it was a bit dodgy at night!
