What did you do as a child that would be considered dangerous today?
Inspired by a thing doing the rounds on facebook..
having a pen knife well below the age of 10 building go carts no breaks going down busy roads in the snow/ ice getting towed off moving cars by holding under the rear bumper going fishing with little or no regard for where we were, building fires etc only going home when it was dark going to football matches on coaches full of drunkards as far afield as southampton just me and my mate aged about 12/13 camping out in a mates garden, roaming the streets at 4am pilfering milk not condoning anything its just how it was |

Hanging onto the back of a milk float on roller skates without getting caught. Riding bare back on ponies in headcollars and no helmets

Playing on bombed out buildings from the war in East London, which was near the docks, so heavily targeted! Worst one was an old pub with bare beams over the cellar far below! We walked across those beams so many times!

At the age of about 11 I stayed with a mate overnight. We climbed out of her bedroom window in the middle of the night, jumped down off the porch roof, and went scrumping for apples in a local farmer's field. Then we wandered around the streets eating apples at 3 in the morning!
The only problem was, we couldn't get back into the house, so we nicked a plank from a nearby building site, propped it up against the porch, crawled up it and from there back into the bedroom window. It never occurred to us to kick the plank away afterwards, and that's how we got caught out the next day ….. Sounds like a made up story but I promise you it's true! Oh, and playing with clackers - wouldn't be allowed these days, in case any little treasure smacked her wrist with one!

I'd forgotten about riding bikes down the slide and shooting off the end - great fun! And sticking pennies in the railway line, yep, did that too.

Just simple things like walking to / from school without adults from as early as I can remember.
I definitely had some clackers although I don’t think they are that dangerous. We used to spend hours in our local dene when we were in first school. So under age of 9. |

I once walked to a local shop that sold candles, it was nearly dark in the Summer, so pretty late and I was about 10. A man was lurking in the gloom and pulled a gun on me! I ran home so fast! It might not have been a gun, but it looked like one. I will never know, I didn't hang around!
I also used to climb garden walls a bit and once fell off into a bramble bush and cut myself to bits. Mum told me off for climbing!

I climbed on the roof of a 7 story hotel once on a family holiday at night time with some friends I’d made 😱
We grew up on a farm so got up to all sorts of stuff. Using air rifles from about the age of 6, Making bonfires ... with petrol 😱 Driving cars round the fields unsupervised 🤦🏼 Loads more tbh I was fine! Would I allow DS to do these things? Nope!
