Universal VIP tour
Has anyone done this and was it worth the cost?
Just wondered if you would get access to any ride within the park you choose or if there are any restrictions, and could you ride multiple times if you wanted? Also do they guide you to where you can go or can you choose to include certain things? Thanks 😀 Edited at 07:46 PM. |

Well worth doing. There were only 3 of us on it the first time & about 9 of us the 2nd time, we did it! Yes you do get to ride all the rides with your 'guide' but only once unless there are only a few of you. You get to go to the backstage of a lot of stuff too which is very interesting. Unless its changed you have a lunch break which you pay for yourself.

We did it a couple of weeks ago - in our view it is well worth the money.
You can be in a group of 12 or so people and when you meet your guide at breakfast they will ask you what types of things that you want to do during the day and them make a customised plan. They get regular updates on what rides are up/down at the time so can ensure that you make the best of your time in the parks. As Wizard said you get to ride as many rides as possible during the day and then your VIP access pass is an express pass for the remainder of the day. We did 23 rides in total (some duplicates) during the day. Breakfast and lunch is included (buffet) and is served in a VIP only restaurant. We had a blast on our VIP day - learnt so much about the rides and the park history and saw some of the back stage areas as well as doing the rides. The only downside is that as you enter most rides through the exit route or child swap areas you don't see all of the pre-ride theming...in our view this was a small price to pay for the privilege of getting onto every ride without waiting. |

Are you indoors and out of the sun more doing the tour? My husband suffered badly in the heat last time we were there and was quite ill. Just wondering if this would help him manage? Or would it be worse as you are part of a tour and less able to hop into air conditioning every 2 minutes? Thanks!

Just wondered but on the Universal site it mentions the Harry Potter areas that you can access, does anyone know if this includes the new Hagrid ride that is now open?
Thanks |

Just only heard about the VIP tour from the other thread (about the Hagrid ride) and am seriously considering it for upcoming trip!
Wondering if anyone knows what you do with your bags when you go on the rides with no bags allowed? Do they bring you over to the lockers, or does the guide hold bags for you?

Hagrid’s was included on our tour but isn’t guaranteed (the same as the other rides).
Our tour guide held our bags for us whilst we went on the rides which meant we didn’t need to queue for lockers. There’s quite a lot of walking on the tour so you’re in the sunshine a fair bit but you don’t wait in the normal queue lines to get on the rides as you walk up the exit ramps or via the child swap areas. I’d definitely recommend it based on the tour we did a couple of weeks ago. |
