1. Would you recommend a particular building or floor. Would prefer not to have view of building works. Can you see fireworks from WDW from here? If so, where should I request to get a decent view?

2. Forgive my possible stupidity... do they provide all bed linen and towels? Do we need pool towels? Am used to self catering in Europe where usually you get nothing!

3. Realistically how long does it take to get from resort to inside WDW parks? We have a hire car. Are we close enough to come "home" for a break in the middle of the day?

Any other information or hints and tips on this resort will be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance!
Hi,

By the looks of it you are one of the first Dibb member to go there this year. Please let us know how you get on and any pitfalls to avoid.

Will do! Am also getting very excited! For the record I phoned Virgin Holidays recently to ask why LBRV is no longer on their website as we have booked (in April 2007) a package with them, and at the time was told the new pool was supposed to be finished by end 2007, so we thought we would be OK for end March 2008, but realised with any building work it is often behind schedule, so there was some risk involved. This seemed to be reflected in the brochure prices which seemed fairly reasonable compared to others. The Virgin man I spoke to had poor English and a foreign accent, so can only assume he was at their call centre in India. Anyway we told me it was all fine, nothing to worry about, and there are no building works going on! Didn't believe him of course, but do hope all is well when we get there. Don't like the idea of being told on arrival that our accomodation has changed. Have not received tickets yet, but if any extra info comes with them I will post it. Can anyone tell me if the exisiting pool gets crowded? Is it always in the shade?

The pool between buildings 1 & 2 is very small. It was pretty crowded when we stayed last year and there were only the 2 buildings open then. I think it will be very busy now with so many more guests staying in the resort.

When we were there in June the sun was high so there was always one side of the pool in sun, there will be more shade at other times of the year but as it is between 2 buildings there will always be some shade.

Fingers crossed for you that building work is complete. I hope you have a lovely stay!

I'm very keen to find out what Virgin do as we are not far behind you. We go on 2nd April!

I would be really interested to know when the Spa is due to open. It says on their website that completion of the building is due in March, but I wonder when the spa will be up and running?!

I might actually give them a call and find out!

Eeek! Not long to go now until we fly out!

The Spa is apparently scheduled to open the first or second week in March and is planned to offer a whole range of beauty treatments This is ideal as it means I can get pampered onsite before our wedding over there! Yayyyyyy!

The Pirates pool is scheduled to open in May and building work is going ahead right now!

I've read some reviews online that the reception staff there can be pretty snotty, but the lady I have just spoken to was absolutely lovely

Recieved virgin preview brochure for next year and LBV resort village is in there.
Cant see you having any probs with accommodation as we were there last march and they were finishing off the 2nd accommodation block and were working behind it doing pool and garden areas.
The building we were in is far enough away from the building site for it not to disturb you and we didnt encounter any problems with dust or noise
