Luggage

I'm flying with virgin too and was advised it would have to go in the hold. As you get luggage allowance of 2 pieces at 23kg each this isn't a problem for me, however I'm gonna be petrified of letting it out of my sight. Unfortunately I've chosen the biggest dress possible and my bridal shop say it will never fit in my hand luggage, I suppose that's the price you pay for wanting to look like a princess!

Not sure of this helps by when we got married in Orlando in 2008 we flew Virgin PE. The wife had bought a box from "Empty Box" .com and Virgin allowed us to store it in the compartmant upstiars in the bubble. The missus didn't want to let the dress out of her sight!

Weh we got there, we met with our wedding planner (who was from the UK) and she even arranged to get someone to come to the villa to professionally iron the dress... which cost around $80.

The company we used to get married in Orando are called "Get Married In Florida" getmarriedinflorida/index.html

Elaine there is amazing and can help with everything!

I'm getting one of those boxes so hoping to be able to store the dress in the overhead lockers. If it's a big problem, they can put it with the buggies downstairs and I can pick it up as soon as I get off the plane. At least that way I can watch it 'board'. It's the baggage/hand luggage side of things that is almost guaranteeing us booking with Virgin!

You don't get 2 suitcase's each anymore on Virgin. You only get 1 now.

How big is your dress? Mine had a long train and built in crinnie and I got mine in a cabin sized bag no problem.

I've ordered the wedding dress travel case from Box of Memories on Ebay as I don't want to be worrying about it getting lost (not that has every happened to us before but why take the chance?). Their boxes are within the VA hand luggage limits, so will be ok as hand luggage.

You do if you're flying PE.

Oh my god I didn't realise they'd changed the rules, thanks so much for telling me. We were in Florida in september and took 2 bags so i didn't realise. We'd probably be flying economy so we're with all our family but don't wanna pay for excess baggage with virgin as i'm pretty sure my dress won't fit in hand luggage, it's huge with a small train. We always fly virgin long haul but might go with BA as I can buy an extra bag for 32. This has completly thrown me, i don't know what to do.

I'm pretty sure you can do the same on Virgin.
