HELP! Dibb Villa has been sold
Hi,
After a nasty experience with Virgin Holidays last year where they cancelled our Villa booking 2 weeks before we left leaving us to find our own we booked a Dibb Villa direct with the owner based on the great reviews, etc. Taxes were all up date when we checked a few weeks back (before paying the balance!). I've just got an email from the Villa Owner to say that they have sold the villa but the new owner is known to them and will be honouring existing bookings. We leave in 3 weeks time It sounds like things should be OK but due to the low occupancy as shown on the web-site we're a little concerned that:
Thanks in advance! Fingers crossed all will be fine Edited at 08:01 PM. |

We have just had this happen too, the new owners are still going to run it as a business but it does make you worry.

Have the previous owners given you the new owners contact details, if not ask for them so you can contact them to make sure your booking is secure.

Try to speak to the new owners and hopefully they will set your mind at rest. If they are planning on renting the villa they will probably be putting more effort and cash into their new purchase.
I'm sure it will be fine. |

Sorry to hear that you are having a worry over the villa you have booked. On a positive note, you have been kept informed and the booking is being honoured. When we purchased our home we worked with the previous owner to transfer all the bookings, he wrote to the booked guests first and we followed up the same day with an email confirming that we were happy to honour the booking or, if they preferred, give them their money back (only one person took this option). The day we were handed the keys we had builders, decorators, etc arranged and within two weeks had completely upgraded the home, including furniture & appliances. I think new owners definitely try to put their "mark" on their new home and are really excited so you could find that you too have a lot of lovely surprises when you arrive! When we took over the bookings we accepted the previous owners terms and conditions and honoured them too. We did change Management Company and your new owner might have done the same, but this shouldn't impact you either way. Hope you have a fantastic time

There was a similar post a couple of days ago.
I had booked a 3 month stay in a villa back in 2006 and the villa was sold prior to us going - it was all fine and had no impact on my booking/holiday at all.

Hi
sorry to hear about your villa. just to confirm what other owners have already said - we brought our villa in June last year. we took over all the bookings - so there was no change to incoming guests. the furniture and fittings, will i'm sure be the same as with most villas they are sold with everything in! If i were you I would try to speak to either the new owner or the managemant company for the new owner to put your mind at rest. have a great holiday! |

Things may actually be better with the new owners.
They could probably have more capital to invest in the home. |

Hopefully the new owners will be in contact with you shortly and be able to put your mind at rest.
