Flight searching q
When you’re waiting for specific dates (teacher) do you have to wait for 11 months from your return date to book a return flight or is it like trains and you book 2 single journeys when that specific days flights are released to get the best price. Probably a really stupid question but am poised for Easter 2020 school hol dates 😬

Most airline carriers work that you would need to wait to book 11 months until your return date.
Depending on where you are flying from, some carriers (like Thomas Cook) get released earlier than this. With flights it almost is never cheaper to book journeys as ‘singles’. |

I am in the same boat waiting for school holidays.
I’ve found Thomas Cook and Tui are out but very expensive, virgin package/fly drive also out but very expensive. BA currently have flights up to the 11th April and Lufthansa is about the 15th I think. All other airlines will be looking at having dates next months as 11 months out. |

I’d looked at Thomas cook and tui but the prices were insane! We’ve been before at Easter but just struck lucky with great flight prices with one search on Skyscanner- this time I’m trying to pre plan. So if we one home on 18 April 2020, we should have an idea of prices on 18 may 2019? Thanks for everyone’s help - exciting isn’t it?

Think we must be looking at the same dates, 4-18th April? 😁
BA flights will cover these dates next week. I’ve priced up 4-11th with BA to try and get an idea, Orlando and Tampa flights are very expensive but Miami is very reasonable. And yes for all other flights you’d be looking around 18th May for your prices. I’m very excited as well, obsessively planning already lol |

The travel agents like virgin holidays, Thomas cook etc, don’t actually gave seats available this far out, but they expect to gave a certain amount, so they price accordingly to satisfy those who can’t wait and will pay a higher price.
Once the 11 months/336 days out from your return date, prices are still higher but will drop in the following weeks. The vest way is to check ita matrix once yiur return date is available as that will show you alternate prices

We are waiting on 4-18th April 2020 too as I expect are a lot of others! Thomas cook out of Gatwick was coming in around £4300 for our family of 5 up until earlier today now it has jumped up to £5800 we are just “impatiently” waiting now for prices to come down to what I will be willing to pay! I don’t like it...🤣😂
