We kept tortoises but its harder work than you think, securing the garden, (they are excellent escape artists) feeding them correctly, hibernating them correctly, worming them, (never by injection, only syringe) making sure they drink properly (shallow tray that they sit in) the Tortoise Trust is excellent for help. I do love seeing them roam around though, like mini dinosaurs across the lawn!

I have 2 Herman’s also and have discovered they are not the same sex which is being problematic as the male is getting a bit frisky

They are 6 years old - lovely adorable pets and super easy to look after.

They terrorise the dog though

We have one called Speedy, he is pure evil when you feed him. He is 25 years old and loves to bite socks. He must be the only one that when he falls over, he cannot right himself and what thanks you get for turning him the right way? a kick.
I love him really.
