Anyone cancelled HRH booked via Hotwire?

I booked HRH for 3 nights via hotwire hot rate hotel deal for the end of August, mentioned on theDibb at the time. Have no intention of going anymore and pretty much all accomodationand flights are cancellable (BA reward flights, DVC disney bookings), but the hotwire booking was non refundable.

Anyone got any experience on trying to cancel this?

Also, booked US tickets (voucher) through Klook, but I think these are extended through to September 2021, is that correct?

I sent a cancellation request for September but it was declined as the dates weren’t covered by the current cancellation policy. Hotwire say they will continue to request a cancellation so I’ve just left it just now to see what happens.

Thank you. I had been put off completing the cancellation form due to some of the wording implying that if you cancelled and the hotel did not refund they would still cancel the reservation.

We don’t really have a choice as we won’t be going. My plan is to get in touch closer to the time to see if they can even do an amendment.

I have had the same reply about my booking for All Stars in August through Hotwire.
It was declined and they will update me in due course

I've got an update...
I've had great customer service from hotwire. From their contact page you can use the "message us" button to start a chat. Last night I managed to get a refund on a non refundable hot rate for a Boston Hilton hotel and the 3 nights are HRH.

Initially, they said it was a deeply discounted rate and not refundable, however, I copied a chat transcript from Loews Hotel, saying they were refunding non-cancellable rates until 30 Sept, even for 3rd party bookings, and pointed them to Loews website:
loewshotels/cancellations
They ended up contacting HRH who agreed to the refund and then Hotwire agreed to refund me. Got the email confirmation instantly. Took over an hour, but was worth it as it was the last part of my holiday I needed to cancel.

Hope that helps others.

P.S. If you want to get a chat transcript from Loews, they don't give an option to contact HRH, so I selected the Miami hotel, think you get through to a central reservation team anyway.

Good luck. Hope it works, it really was a slow process so be prepared. It can take a while for an agent to connect to the chat.

Just an update from me - I did live chat on Hotwire and explained the Loews cancellation policy with a link to the webpage. I didn’t need to do a chat with Loews as the Hotwire agent called them and they authorised the refund. Very pleased with the service and will now probably look at Hotwire for next year when dates become available.
