Sorry but no

No chance- yuk! My eldest tried them when she went to France with the school in yr6 and said they were disgusting. She got praise as she was the only one to do so.
My brother when he went with the school tried them and frog legs- said the frog legs tasted just like chicken, were ok then but wouldn't try them again.

My middle son went to France in year 6- at the time his only ate around ten different things in total . He came home and told me he had tried snail 😱 amazing what peer pressure and a teacher can achieve - needless to say it was only one mouthful and has never been eaten since.

So it isnt Whelks? We used to go and gather Winkles at Robin Hoods Bay... and no we werent posh either!

Also from the NE, definitely not posh and we call them winkles. I've never liked them but i used to put the "beauty spot" on my face
