Pre-travel day - Premier Inn North, Gatwick
It was about 7.30pm when we arrived, and after doing twilight check-in, none of us were really in the mood for a full sit down meal. Lighter options are pretty limited both at the Premier Inn restaurant and landside airport eateries, so we decided to take out a second mortgage and buy a room picnic from M&S Food. My goodness, it's expensive! Probably even more so as it's an airport branch. We spent £31.35 there, and then another £11.87 in Boots getting a few more bits. Here's the haul: My share of that little lot: It was all tasty and hit the spot just right. The main disappointment were Izzy's fresh orange segments which she said tasted really processed. The raspberry panna cotta was delicious though according to Andy and Brodie. Tomorrow is an early start as we're on the 10.15am flight, but we'll be having a Premier Inn breakfast to set us up for the day ahead

Hope you have a great holiday. I love your idea of a room picnic. We always go for the hotel meal deal and I find it tasty but too filling and stodgy. The picnic looks delicious and a more relaxed way to start the holiday.
