It All Begins And Ends In Washington! Travel Day 2

Sat waiting at Charles de Gaulle waiting to board our A380 to Washington so time to put 1st half of today on now.
Woke up at 3.15am after what seemed like an age trying to get to sleep think I managed an hour or at least it felt like it.
DW was already up and showered before I got up. Got sorted and over to T3 to check in on our Flybe flight it Paris.
When we got to gate for our now delayed flight it was changed so had to be escorted to the domestic departures for our gate change took off half an hour late.
I don't like flying in propeller planes and I don't much like sitting at the back and had both on the way to Paris

Arrived in Paris with still almost 4 hours until we fly. Had a wander round the shops which are all high end shops that we don't really shop in and had a pastry from Paul's. Another wander around and now we are sat at the gate waiting to board in 30 mins time fingers crossed no delays.
Quick picture of effiel tower in airport as only saw the real one from the air!

After a short delay on the tarmac due to technical problem we got away about 45 mind late than supposed to. Arrived at Dulles and was just under an hour through immigration some of that time was because of a girl in front of our line had problems with her entry and had to go-for a secondary check.
Once through we then had a missing bag which turned up after 10 mins along with some other peoples bags as a trolly of bags got missed!

Anyway after getting our bags we caught the Silverline bus to the first Metro Station then the Metro to Foggy bottom cost each would have been around $10 and took total of 45 mins so not bad at all . Then under 10 min walk to our hotel.

Staying at The State Plaza which is lovely not too big hotel with massive rooms we also have a kitchen with a kettle in it for anyone who likes a kettle in Thor room. Cost of this hotel was £260 for 3 nights is also within 5-7 min walk of the the Mall with the memorials.

By time we had got our room and dropped of our bags it was 7.30 and we had been up for near on 21 hours but went out to view the Washington Monument and go to the Lincoln Monument in the dark.

Washington Monument

Lincoln Monument. We also went to see the Korean War memorial and the Vietnam one before heading back to the hotel.

By the time we got back and sorted for tomorrow no unpacking as only here for 3 nights everything we needed we had packed into separate packing cubes for each part of trip it was after 9 and time for some sleep hopefully.
