Hi all!

I've been reading pages and pages on this forum and never posted, so here goes my first post!

We went to WDW for the first time last year 27th April-11th May 2018, CBR, free QSDP, transfers, flying return from Bristol etc. It was supposed to be our 'once in a lifetime trip' but here I am, looking to book again for 2020. Our trip last year cost us just over £1800pp booked with TUI, for next year we would be looking at around £2200pp. Seems crazy to think it would cost us £400 more?!

The cheapest quote I've received so far was from Charter Travel, 09th-23rd May '20 staying at CSR, QSDP, $200 gift card, Virgin flights from Gatwick £2189pp. Does this seem like a good deal? Has anyone booked cheaper for a similar time?

First of all welcome to the DIBB - and don't be worried about getting the bug - it's happened to us all...

We've booked through Attraction Tickets Direct for the 8th May next year at CSR (Might see you there?! ) There's also a link on the DIBB where you can save £35 quid too - every little helps!

We paid £3330 without flights. We've decided this year to wait for the BA/Virgin/Norwegian Sales to try and bag flights for less than £400pp which can often be done.

I also think it's worth remembering that the $200 dollar gift card equates to an extra £150 off your holiday too in essence.

I think the only way you'll get a really cheap deal is if you book a last minute trip but then you run the risk of not getting what you want. We've definitely noticed prices creep up too though.

Good luck and let us know if you go at the same time, to the same place as us!

I booked direct with Disney, at CSR, for the exact same dates you're looking at.

Hotel Cost - £2,604
Tickets - £1,267 (Disney only, 2 adults, 1 child (3))
Free DDP

Total cost - £3,871

I used Quidco to book, so am getting 4% cashback, bringing the total to £3,716.16

Haven't booked flights yet, but current cost per person is £1,238.72

Only Thomas Cook flights available at the moment, from Gatwick, and they would be £1,389.94 (or £463.31 per person). I'm holding out for cheaper, but this would give you an idea.

Allowing £70 for fuel for car there and back. Plus parking and overnight hotel stay at Gatwick - £150 (approx.).

This brings total (estimated at this point) cost to £5,326.10. So £1,775.37 per person.

So, that includes flights, hotel, tickets, DDP, $300 Disney gift card (I got the extra $100 as we booked before 4 May), but we are NOT hiring a car. Even so, car hire would have to work out at £413.63 PER PERSON for it to beat the quotes you're getting.

I've excluded flying from Bristol (also south west based), as it is only TUI who flies from there and they don't fly to Orlando on Saturdays (our preference) from Bristol.

Honestly, unless you are keen to fly with a particular airline (like Virgin for example), I'd just book directly.
