California here we come...
Yay! We've booked our flights today along with our hotel in San Francisco so we're actually GOING! Roll on 26th October!
Really pleased with the prices...we got flights with USAirways via Philly - into Phoenix and return from Sa Francisco - 2 Adults and one child for £950. Later on I decided to check on Hotwire for San Fran hotels and chose a 3 star hotel in Fishermans Wharf for $73 a night...and got the Radisson which is the one we really wanted but couldn't get from anywhere else for less than $129 dollars a night! Really chuffed On with the planning...got to find hotels in Anaheim, Williams (nr the Grand Canyon), Mariposa (for Yosemite) and a couple of places en route between these places. So excited now!

Great news Jacqui. When you add all that up, you have bagged yourself a real bargain. That was quick getting the countdown up too. I have got to get myself to the West coast!

We used Hotwire too for our hotel in SF in March and had the Holiday Inn on the Wharf which was great $260 for the room for 3 nights. Sounds like you got a great deal too. We loved the Doubletree Convention Center in Anaheim - excellent hotel. There is a write up in my last trip report if you want to have a look at some pics.
Pam.

Isn't it a great feeling when you book it?
We stayed at Motel6 in Williams, its nice and clean and not expensive and you have Denny's next door for breakfast! In Anaheim, the Sheraton Park is a lovely hotel, they have balconies that overlook the parks and you can watch the fireworks at night, they also have Sweet Sleeper beds which are the comfiest beds ever. Thanks folks... Just so excited tonight! We've been planning for a while now but couldn't actually book anything until the flights were booked. WE were hoping for direct flights but got fed up of waiting for them to drop... currently £1,200... and DD said she'd prefer indirect so decided to take the plunge!
Pam - I'll have a look at your trippie, thanks for the recommendation. Rio - likewise thanks for the advice...will have a look at those options.

We just stayed at he Radisson 3 weeks ago, its in a great position, right on the front.
If you go out the front door and turn left theres a I-Hop 30 seconds away, great for breakfast , and by the back entrance theres a Johhny Rockets . There also an ice cream parlour tho we didnt try it, tooooo cold, . Apparently the hotel pool is heated all year round tho we didnt try it as it was freezing when we went. Try and get a Verandah room with a view of Alcatraz, would think its nice to sit out on after a day of sightseeing. Although we had one we couldnt spend anytime on it as , as i said it was really cold and windy. We loved Alcatraz. Have a great time
