LOL!
I really don't see why people make such a big deal about which of the major Strip hotels they stay in to be honest. Firstly, there's the good old argument 'how long do you spend in the room in Vegas?' (or any hotel room in the world in truth) but also, there really isn't a great deal of difference between the standard rooms in any of the major hotels in Vegas. Sure, the standard room in Wynn is nicer, maybe a bit bigger but is it so much better than the standard Tower in the MGM... I personally don't think so. I base my Vegas hotel choice on package and price alone. We had to abort a trip last November due to work issues but I was down for a $20 per night stay for a week in the Excalibur, yes I wanted the MGM but at the time it couldn't compete with that Excalibur deal. Yes the MGM is a nicer hotel, but I'm not paying four times as much (and much more at weekends) just so I can be in the MGM when it's only a 10min walk from the Excalibur anyway and I can still utilise all the MGM facilities apart from the pool and of course the room. Luxor pyramid or tower? Both, whichever is cheapest (invariably the pyramid)...it really isn't that bigger deal IMHO. It's still the Luxor, it's still Vegas, it's still the USA! |

Actually go to the main reservations page :
https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/b...utmk=202084113 and input MGM035 in the promotions box below?

We haven't stayed in a tower room so we can't compare the two... but having stayed in a pyramid room it is far from being "snug"... It may well be smaller than a tower room but it certainly isn't "snug"... Are you comparing it to your own palatial home Heather As a first time visitor I was pleased to be in the pyramid ( to be honest, that is a bit of a lie, I didn't know there was a tower! but in retrospect...I'm glad I was in a pyramid room purely for the novelty factor ) I'd love to stay in one of the really "top end" hotels, but I can't bring myself to spend oodles of money ( which I don't have anyway ) for a bed in a aroom I'll hardly be in.

The first hotel we stayed in when we visited Vegas was the Luxor, we were allocated a pyramid room.
I did a lot of research and the majority of reviews said that the tower rooms were the better rooms to stay in so when we checked in and the receptionist asked if we wanted pyramid or tower we opted for tower. We had a brilliant room and were glad we took this option. My niece stayed in the Luxor when she got married and she had a pyramid room, we visited a few times and found that when 4 of us were sat in the room it was snug. I compared this to when 4 of us got together for 'cocktails' in our tower room where I felt there was more room. Not as much room as the widescreen rooms (extra space) room in the Excalibur where 12 of us got together for drinks! I also agree with the earlier post and your comment Myra, I am reluctant to spend a lot of money on a room in Vegas as it is only the room you're paying for, all the hotels and casino's are open for anyone to visit so who cares where you lay your head for the night. Actually I have never wanted to stay in the Bellagio or C. Palace etc, no really I haven't. If I were to pay extra we'd go back to the Signature as we loved having the extra space and the fridge, microwave etc. Vegas is fab, no matter where you stay. Oh and Myra I live in a 'snug' 2 bedroom bungalow so am used to limited space.

Ah...there were only ever the two of us in the room...and we were mostly horizontal
I will say though...the windows were filthy! Tried taking photos of the mountains and could hardly see out.

We actually saw the window cleaners cleaning the pyramid while we were there - brave brave men!
