We stayed at the Luxor and absolutely loved it.

However, if we went back we would like to stay at Caesars Palace.

The swishest hotels I've stayed in are The Palazzo and TheHotel (at Mandalay Bay). Both huge suite rooms and just very plush.

The best value-for-money is The MGM grand, I think? The standard rooms are big by Vegas standards, the Bungalow suites are great value for not much more money and the staff are unfailinmgly helpful (again, not a given in Las Vegas). The pool area is phenomenal too.

The most disappointing rooms I've had were at Caesars Palace, which surprises most people when they hear it? I just think it's very expensive for wqhat the rooms actually offer and the layout of the hotel/casino is enough to give you a migraine!

I'm no expert, but I've visited Las Vegas 14 times since 1989 - if you want some advice, feel free to pm me!

Overall my two personal favs are Caesars and MGM - to me there is just a feeling or vibe at these places that I just love - there may be swankier places in Vegas now but to me they still dont have the vibe of these two. But it depends upon what you're looking for. The Palms and Hard Rock are great party hotels. I've never stayed at the Aria but a friend who visits Vegas often stayed there in May for 5 days and said it was his favourite. For value, I definitely got my money's worth once at Planet Hollywood and would surely stay there again.

Have been 3 times and have always stayed at the Stratosphere and it will be number 4 next year. Great value and their remodelled 'select' rooms are great for the price. Stayed there for 6 nights for £160 in the 'select' rooms after booking when Expedia had a sale. You get the Duece or the Downtown Express bus right at the hotel so getting down the strip is no problem. There will be the debate about location and what the area is like at night but for us its nice to go back to somewhere quiet after a day or night in the hussle and bustle of the strip and always felt safe there
