Yavapai Lodge, Grand Canyon

Hi

I’m looking at staying at Yavapai Lodge when we go to the Grand Canyon next year. Which is better - the east or west side?

Thanks

We stayed west, we were glad as it looked much nicer (to us! ) when we saw the East building by comparison because West was low rise, like bungalows and was quite nicely spread out with parking right outside the door.

We were unsure about our booking before we got there, as the photos made it look quite basic inside, but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived.

Easy short-ish stroll through trees from there to canyon rim.
Would stay again with no hesitation

Thanks both. It’s cheaper to book West with BA for some reason, but couldn’t find out what the difference was.

We booked through Ba and stayed in the East room last year. They are two storey blocks with parking along one side. They were actually better than I expected, read lots of comments about them being very basic. They had aircon, Tv, Fridge and were very clean. Had deer wandering around when we woke up one morning. The accommodation was absolutely fine as it meant no long drives and easy access to the rim. Not luxurious but ticks a lot of other boxes.
