DD stressing as still got history curriculum left to cover, drama practical to do, English ok (I think) her school is partially closed at present. Made her choices but really feel at a loss as to what to say to her.

I see all schools will close from Friday and all exams, including A-levels, are now cancelled.

My daughter is now very distressed and doesn’t know what to do. She’s having mock exams this week and has one tomorrow and another on Friday. She doesn’t see the point in going into school to sit these mocks. She’s been looking online at jobs for those without degrees or A-levels.

I hope everyone out there with children, especially those who were about to take their A-levels or GCSEs, are managing to cope. Fingers crossed for us all.

Just to bring a bit of positive news in an awful week, DS received an email today telling him his conditional offer at Liverpool John Moore’s has now been changed to an unconditional offer. He would still prefer Liverpool Uni but at least knows he can accept an unconditional offer and relieve the pressure

Hi , I posted a link to the guidance yesterday. I have now added the FAQ for England. It includes references to university offers and acceptance.

No doubt UCAS is putting out it's own too.

DD is doing chemistry, biology and physiology for A level at Hartpury. Her tutors have all emailed her to say they are still doing online lessons and will be issuing workbooks etc which will be marked so I am assuming all this will form part of the grade still.

Yes DD college are doing the same. DS school also setting lots online work to be completed and used as evidence of grades. DS had thought he would be watching the Mandalorian this week 😂

My daughter has had an email from Bangor Uni advising that they're changing all conditional offers to unconditional offers (with the exception of primary teaching and certain health sciences). This is great news and really lifts the stress she was feeling. Hopefully other Uni's will follow suit.
