Thank you Tink - really helpful thread - all subscribed.
We are planning a 3 week trip to SF, LA and Hawaii in July 2021 after DS has finished his A levels, so looking at this with interest.

I remember staying at the Castle Inn in 1994 when I went with my parents!

What are the main benefits of staying in one of the Disneyland hotels? I'm struggling to see why I would pay double the price for a room no closer, but perhaps I'm missing something important?

Me again!

I’m a DVC member and have stayed onsite with my points. It was absolutely wonderful but the perks are pretty non existent so every time since we’ve stayed offsite and used the $300+/day saving on other things. I am prepared to walk for ten minutes or so twice a day to save that sort of cash!

Now that Disneyland California has reopened since April 2021 and the travel ban to USA will be removed from 8 November 2021, its time to revive this thread.

I have gone through my original information posts and updated and removed old information. All updates new information are now in this colour

I have a trip to Disneyland California booked for the end of January 2022, so I as I research and plan my trip I will add new information.

Just read through this and it's full of terrific info and the maps are definitely useful. Heading to California for 3 weeks next June/July and love all the research beforehand. Thanks for posting

Brilliant thread
We're considering ditching WDW for DL

We visited in 1986. I think it probably changed now

WEATHER September... Was looking at a week in LA for WDW y US then a week elsewhere. Probably San Diego or San Fran

Appreciate any recommendations

Its changed hugely since 1986 lol , theres even big changes since I was last there in June 2019.

September is the hottest time of the year in California, temperatures will be over 100f and it will be hotter in the parks due to the concrete and close buildings.
