Do you still have a landline?

Trying to work out whether or not we need to keep a landline or not.

Do you have one? Other than receiving calls on one is there any additional value to keeping it going?

Most of my relatives are elderly, so don’t do mobiles...so the landline is used often.

We have one for the internet and that is all it’s used for. I unplugged the phone when I realised the only calls I received were from scammers or telemarketing. I did think about getting one of the BT blocking type phones but then realised that no one would ever ring me so what was the point.😅

I have a landline, however we haven't had phone plugged into it for over four years, have tried cancelling the line but Virgin always throw it in for free at renewal time.

Hi, not sure I understand this. Do you have to pay for a landline in order to have home WiFi? If so we would need to keep ours then.

We only have one (and therefore pay for one) as we need it for broadband. The phone isn't plugged in to it though as we don't use it. We ended up changing our number a couple of years ago when we switched supplier as I forgot to port it and I couldn't even tell you what the number was now.

Yes but I’m about to get rid of it. We just never use it now.

I'm a 'belt & braces' person so I'd never not have a landline as well as mobile just because I can.
