VA Open ticket - rebooking

Hi, I was wondering if anyone with a Virgin Open ticket has rebooked?

I’m looking to do this in the next couple of days and wondered what’s the best way to do. My original email says to text but I’ve also seen an online rebooking form.

Has anyone got any experience of this? Top tips gratefully received

I saw a price online that I didn't want to miss out on so I braved the wait on the phone to get the booking secured.

That sounds like a plan! I did wonder how long it would take for them to get back to me if I text, flight prices seem to be changing on a daily basis just now so I wouldn’t like to miss out.

Thank you

I will be booking next month so will be good to know, I noticed with BA it allows you to enter a voucher ref when doing an online booking so would be good if virgin can do the same, I have messaged virgin on previous flights to reserve flights which was very quick to do, but that was before Covid so there maybe a delay in doing it this way now.

The BA system sounds much better, that way you could book flights straight away if you find a good price. Sadly it doesn’t look like Virgin offer this

I’m definitely going to ring I have a couple of questions I want to ask while I’m on so it will be easier on that phone rather than trying to ask them by text.

I phoned as we had open tickets for 7 people but only want to book 6 and get a refund on the 7th.

They were really good, managed to get new flight booked and a refund sorted for the 7th. They worked out different prices for me and didn't rush me at all whilst on the call.

BA issue 2 types of voucher at the moment a Future Travel Voucher (FTV) and an Electronic Voucher (eVoucher) and it is only the latter that can be used on ba.com. You have to phone the call centres to book using an FTV. So if anyone has a voucher you will have to check to see what sort has been issued. The link below has all the details about re-booking

I called Virgin this morning, I was on hold for about 45 minutes which wasn’t as long as I thought it would be. We are now all booked up for July 2021 and the best part was that it was £150 cheaper than I had expected from the dummy booking I did on the website.

I am actually quite excited, I didn’t think I would be with all that’s going on with the uncertainty etc. but now the flights are booked I’m starting to look forward to planning again.

Thank you very much to everyone for your help/advice
