Where you getting taxi back too and have you had a quote? We are going to do the same but might use Virgin trains.

However, by the time I have paid for transfer to Euston, then train tickets, plus cost from train station to home, a private transfer might be better.

We’re looking at renting a car from airport then driving back up to Cheshire , enterprise rental was about £150 for med car , same day drop off , so think we’ll do this ?

We’re doing this route in August. As others have already said, you have to transfer your luggage from Heathrow to Gatwick yourself and also from Gatwick to Heathrow on your return. However, doing this means you can drop the last leg of the journey on your return home if that suits you better. If you try and drop the first leg, your remaining tickets will be cancelled.

We have booked National Express to take us home from Gatwick when we return. It cost just £42 for 4 of us on a direct coach to Milton Keynes, bargain! I haven’t booked our transfer from Heathrow to Gatwick yet; I looked at National Express again but it was coming in around the same price as a private transfer so we might just do that.

I’m currently waiting for train fares to be released to Manchester with Virgin as we are planning on taking the train down the night before.
