Think this is what I’ll do.

Our passes expire in August and we have a trip booked for the first 2 weeks. Slim chance we might still get to go.
Until Disney actually says this on its website then take what you read on Facebook with a pinch of salt, people say anything. At the moment you cannot cancel your AP and get a refund you have to wait until the parks re-open for Disney to work out how much you can get.

On their website right now at disneyworld.disney.go/travel-information/ - says that for APs paid in full, expiry date of the AP will either be extended for the amount of time the parks are closed; or as an alternative, they can choose to get a partial refund for the theme park closing period.

I’ll most likely be trying to get the partial refund for the theme park closing period. Have an AP due to expire at end of October and back in January had been thinking of trying to do a trip in April/May (which got put on permanent hold once it became apparent that coronavirus was going to be a problem). It appears very likely that my work will not let us take any overseas leave until after the end of this year due to needing all of us to be available to work. So the extension of my AP may not help me very much... as such it is nice that they are offering the partial refund for the closure period.

Yep that is for the period it is closed for not from closing until your pass expires which what the person in Facebook is allegedly saying what they got.

At the moment that partial refund is just one twelfth of the cost. If it goes to two months 1/6
Id rather get a rain check two week pass for when we can go back again in lieu of our cancelled May holiday
