Just to update all booked with sat nav, intermediate for now although we may amend to SUV nearer the time

I have to say that DFCH happened to be slightly cheaper, but moreso the service and response from Andy was awesome

Thanks too to everyone here that has helped/advised, I really appreciate it

Firstly Costco. Is this hiring from the US Costco ... if so likely won’t include the insurances as hiring in the US generally they use their own insurance so the hire won’t include it by default. I don’t know but definitely something that comes to mind to check.

As for who to avoid - people have had bad experiences likely with all companies. I know on here people say avoid Dollar - I’ve used them years ago and were ok but their cars are generally more ‘used’ and can have a few issues. I wouldn’t use them again personally unless everyone else’s prices were ridiculous and theirs were reasonable.

I personally would use anyone who uses Alamo or Budget - some would say avoid Budget but I used them last time and the car was great with no hard sell.

Thanks Dave, must have cross posted!
As it happened Costco came out £142 dearer anyway with supposed discount

We used Dollar in 2016, and the only mistake I made was letting hubby go to counter alone 😱, he paid an additional nearly £300 to the salesperson there for god knows what and I was too late to stop it by the time I got back with the bags (plus a 20min debate/row lol)
He’d not been before, but I forgot how bad they can be when you get to the counter as I’d not been myself for a few years

It’s booked with Alamo - can we skip the counter do you know?

Yes you can. We booked with DFCH and managed it. There’s a whole thread that explains how.

Thanks, I’ll try and find it to read through another day, but it’s another job ticked off my planning list but plenty of time because we’ve only got 326 days to go 😭😭

Why does the countdown go so slow 🤔
