Alamo - Charged Twice
Afternoon all, you lot have always been helpful before so here goes;
Booked a car with Alamo through Thomas Cook, paid for the Gold insurance, all good. Signed up for OLCI and STC, went and collected our car and gave the woman in the booth my CC and our licenses. Returned the car, they had a quick scan, gave me a receipt and we were done. I had checked the paperwork whilst there so I know we had nothing to pay and we could return the car empty. Today I look at my credit card statement and the full hire amount is on there, despite saying I had nothing to pay and it was previously paid months before we even went on holiday. Has anyone had this happen to them? What was the resolution? |

OP. It does happen sometimes, more so with Avis. What does the receipt say that you got from the garage guys when you took the car back?
Don't worry as this is resolvable. Sounds like Thomas Cook haven't actually pushed the monies over to Alamo and it's their problem to sort out. Also you could get your credit card company to block it whilst they investigate thus ensuring you dont pay interest.
