Not at all, just the smell of lots of good food!
It's a fully enclosed kitchen area so no smoky bbq atmosphere... great menu
It really is a notch up on what you'd expect from QSD... Loved it..

You soon get to know the quiet times at Por foodcourt and the times to avoid. Breakfast is lovely and peaceful at 7/ 7.30 turn up at 9 and the place is heaving (although even then on the odd day we had a lie in, queues looked big but we never had to wait too long). Lunch time is pleasant most days and an early dinner 5/6pm is much quieter than 7/8/9pm.

We would hate to be restricted to adrs so always opt for qsdp and if we fancy dinner on a proper plate for a change we go off site or wolfgang puck (or nip over to French quarter, they have proper plates now too).

I watched a YouTube clip on it - looks very good plus they also have servers that take additional orders once your seated. It really does seem an improvement on normal QS. Youngest DS not keen on meat so will have to be mac & cheese again!

Thanks for that - some good advice plus it's good to know about FQ too.

Even when the food court at POR is busy its fun to watch them cooking and to people watch, or chat to the person next to you in the queue. If it was really busy we used to get the food to take out and take it back to the room- kids were happy to sit on the bed watching tv (and spill ketchup on my bed! )

At CBR we would grab a table by the pool bar and eat our food there. It was by far a more relaxing experience than eating indoors. The bar pool area is right outside the food court though (or it was before the refurb) and I'm not sure if the pool bar area at POR is close to the food court - looking at the map, I can't work out if we could do the same.

I see Polite Pig are introducing some new menu items which look great.

We are doing QSDP for the first time next year after always doing DDP. We like the idea of no ADR's to be basing our days around and taking it all a bit more relaxed. I will have to fit in a cheeky character buffet out of pocket though.
