I think you won’t find one as the laws are contradictory. Ie. USA require a chest clip. EU ban them.

They make the same models for both country’s but with slight variations to meet the differing laws.

If it helps in anyway a UK car seat to be legal in US needs
FMVSS213 approval.
Then is 100% ok.
Failing that buy them on US Amazon site and then flog back in UK on ebay or here on the dibb.
Enjoy your trip and best of luck with hunt for seat.

Just spoke to DD.. any car seat sold in the UK will only have UK approval marks. It is up to the customer to contact the manufacture to see of it is approved in another country. There could be potentially difference between the same model sold in different countries which may mean it wouldn't get approved in another country.

This issue hardly has any impact on me as we only take the Granddaughter once a year.
Next trip I will be taking her UK seat which is fine.

I very much doubt any US Police Officer is going to pull anybody over to check a child's seat. Not when every day I am currently seeing drivers with their kids leaping around in the car not even strapped in.

With regards to Insurance issues I don't live my life on what if and could have. I adopt a common sense approach and take a seat that has undergone some of the most rigorous testing in the World.

US test 30 mph EU test 31 mph. EU side impact rest mandatory US advisory but all manufsctures do for advertising and selling purpose.
Lets be honest both are as safe as each other.
The OP just wants to be lega,l safety isnt an issue as both are as safe as each other.
The question raised is legality not safety as we all put this first surely anyhow.
So I guess we should just answer the question posed.

The main problem with using UK car seats will be how they are secured in the car. Seat belts ones are probably fine but isofix and I-size might be a little more difficult.

Wehave the Britax duo plus which can be seat belted or isofix with a top tether.

britax-roemer/car-...plus/1060.html

so the manual states that the seat meets the eu regulation

But it looks like the latch part meets the FMVSS requirement
us.britax/product-knowle...s/about-latch/

we have twins and so will be carrying two of these through the airports on Monday..cannot wait.

Anybody had any experience of buying any US approved car seats, but here from the UK?

I know Amazon is possible but the shopping is expensive, eBay all I have contacted will not ship to the UK.

Has anyone found success using any other routes?
