Uber advice - getting an Uber from a gated community.

We'll be looking to get an Uber on at least one occasion in December and I wanted to ask how we should do this from a gated community? We actually did this last August but I'm sure there must be a less complex way than what we did! 😂 We tried to get an Uber at 6.30 in the morning to go to Discovery Cove. It was a Sunday and obviously as it was early there weren't too many cars in the area (West Haven) so it said it'd be about 30 minutes. We decided we'd walk to the gates as we weren't sure the Uber would get on to the estate. We lost wifi as soon as we left the villa and then found the pedestrian gate into/out of the estate seemed to be locked. We ended up waiting and luckily a car went to leave so we ran out of the main gates after. I'm sure this must have seemed a bit worrying to the people in the car and must have looked funny if there is a camera. What should we have done. We can't be the only people to have got an Uber from a gated community?!

Not uber, but cab driver knew code for gate at Vista cay

If it is a guarded gated community the Uber driver would give the details of the address, have to present their driving license and the car details are noted, before admission into the community for collection at the Villa.

I am not sure how this would work in a code entry community unless they know the code.

The estates within West Haven are code entry. When we got the Uber back we had to tell the driver how to enter the code.

When you book an Uber, there is a 'contact the driver' button. You can e-mail / ring them with the info.
