Got the discount code and the journey was free! Literally waited 30 seconds from booking the car to it appearing at our hotel

Ok-I've just read this thread:however, still confused/ scared/anxious
I'm a big worryguts There will be 3 of us staying onsite at Disney. One night at rpr. (During Disney stay) Final 4 nights at bonnet creek. All non drivers. We have car service booked from Sanford to resort & for return journey. I was initially thinking taxis for transportation to supermarkets, malls, universal etc.. I'm a bit (?!) of a control freak-so, if I want to go somewhere at x time: I would ordinarily order a taxi in advance. How do you actually know how long car will take? How do you compare taxi eg mears prices versus uber? Have you ever had incorrect fare taken from cc? How could I keep track-do you get a receipt? How do you know the driver has possibly taken a wrong turn (I have no sense of direction) I'm sure I'll have other thoughts-sorry if I've asked a question which has already been answered |

We used Uber X and it was easy to do. I used fare estimate option to get rough idea of how much you can see the estimate option here ww.uber.com/cities/orlando
Never had an issue with payment and when you use the app...you see the driver on a live map and see how far he/she is from you. Highly recommend it as it did save $$$ by using Uber ;-)

Quick question, I guess that picking up at a Disney resort isn't a problem, however when we are looking to come back from US/SW, do you wait in the usual taxi area at both parks for your Uber ride? I know they are keen to get you in a yellow cab in both those areas, but just want to make sure we can wait there for what is essentially a non-yellow cab?

How come you don't tip them?
Just seems weird when you always tip taxi drivers wherever in the world you are |

It says the tip is built in to the quote, and they will ask you instead to give them a 5 star rating on the app. Apparently if their rating drops low it can be a problem for them (maybe loose their job or something I think I read?)

Thomas Cook - cash passport card
Thomas Cook have a payment card. It's a Mastercard prepaid currency card and a cheap alternative to using debit or credit cards. Load it with dollars before your holiday and whilst you are away you can use it to pay for goods and services in shops, restaurants, hotels etc (just like using a debit card at home they say). My question therefore - does anyone know if this card can be registered and used for Uber?

This sounds fab but what about mobile phone charges for using the app or can you just use wifi ? Don't want a massive phone bill when I return to the UK
