London City to Gatwick could be done as DLR to Canning Town - Canning Town to London Bridge on the Jubilee line - London Bridge to Gatwick Airport on the Southern rail line. Probably take about an hour or so.
London City is usually pretty quick to get through immigration and baggage collection. Edited at 09:34 PM. |

Thanks for all your help, I’m now going to sit tight and see what happens. I’m definitely flying out so coming back we will just have to see. I’m gonna wait for them to get back in touch as trying to get through on the phone is a joke.

If just to let u know they were open really late last night we actually managed to proceed beyond them cutting us off at 9.45pm they answered and we sorted our flight at 10.30pm. So looks like they are staying open later

I believe they’re open until midnight every night this week (tonight being the last night so far, but this has possibly/probably changed)
I don’t think this is being advertised though |

Still trying to get through to no avail tho.
Would you still just go in the flight on the 6th and hope for the best reference the return journey on the 9th? We have a package booked so as I’ve read it’s BA duty to get us on the next available flight or pay for extra nights accommodation until they can get us home. It feel so up in the air, do we risk going and wait to see what happens? BA want us to cancel (I bet they do) which I’m not happy to do so, I guess they will contact me sometime just wish they hurry up ! |

If it was me I’d sit tight, you still want your holiday, it’s their problem to sort it

So just got off the phone to them, for all the irate customers they must be dealing with I tell you my lady was super. We even got cut off (apparently all their phones and systems went down for 20 mins) but she called me straight back afterwards. Anyway we are now coming home two days later with all flights and accommodations and breakfast paid for. I’m so relieved we can now look forward to our ‘extended’ break. Hope everyone else gets the results their after too, good luck...
