My dd is also due to go to camp this year after postponing last years, she is fully expecting not to go due to the visa situation and is not happy with the lack of help from camp America. They are just left in limbo atm, she just wants somebody to finally accept they won't get there this year.

You are correct that it isn't really mentioned much here but I am surprised any business that is expecting to employ anyone on a visa this summer hasn't been paying attention.

They seem to have a pretty poor and disappointing awareness. Very impersonal and frankly too big and too careless… I could go on, but he wouldn’t be using them as a sponsor again. A friend who had similar shoddy experience with them recommends Wildpacker now as a more caring sponsor…

His feelings completely. They just seem on the make, in denial, and unaware. His camp is great, and really engaged with him, but CA don’t have a clue.

Has anyone had any luck yet with the US embassy here?

I wouldn’t have thought you are going to have any luck with the US Embassy, that’s just the way they are. If CA can’t/won’t help then the only thing I can suggest is asking the employer if he could defer to next summer. At least he’d still have something to look forward to, but I get that circumstances might make that option difficult
