Smart meters, for or against?
Once again we are being encouraged to have one. I am getting a bit fed up with it.
Are you for against these gadgets? Edited at 05:06 PM. |

Waste of money - I would much rather they re-invest the money used on these faddy gadgets in making greener energy or reducing my bills . I am quite capable of reading my meter every month . I have refused one in very property so far.

Total waste of the installers time and do nothing apart from saving me or them having to read the meters
They need to understand the more they keep bothering me to have them the more I will resist!

We did, however my spelling was bad so I had to change it!
These bits of kit are probably made in China or somewhere like that but even then must cost a few quid so that makes them even worse to my mind. More plastic being created and does the meter reader out of a job Plus I thought meters had to be physically inspected every year or so to ensure no criminality and no defects.

Another no here. Changing perfectly good meters with decades of life left does not strike me as being "green".
But I am told they are green for people who haven't a clue that if you switch things on they use electricity and cost you money. My MIL got one. The monitor is in the drawer now as she was frightened to turn things on that she needed (cooker, kettle, washing machine, router - attached to emergency button alarm system!) |
