That would be my choice as well. But I would break it down to separate contracts such as prep then fit.

the fitting is actually done by the kitchen company, but our project have good bit of building work involved.

The 3rd builder mentioned few times how much he likes the plans. That was nice to hear .

If you’re confident it won’t warp if it gets damp/wet from washing stuff, or steamy from cooking, then go for it as it looks good - unusual in a good way. I would play safe with tile, marble or glass if it were me, but I don’t know your product, so it may be fine.

I feel like I am getting nowhere

2 builders in the running
1 should send me quote
2nd I asked one question last Monday and still no response. The question is if the radiator is included in the cost

Have to call 4 widnow/door companies today and aparantly the lead for some is 12 weeks. So that's my kitchen by September dream killed!

Folks, I am gutted.

So now the question is - type of doors! This is the layout that we are after

this is the layout we are going with, just the panel with opening and the door swapped

If you want to soundproof the room then go for triple glazed units, we have them and they make a massive difference to outside sound. The main problem is fitters hate them as they are very heavy. You also have to check for imperfections in the glass when fitted we had to have 3 units changed though Imperfect glass

Yes our house is warmer than when we had double glazing but you will never save money vs triple

Modern double glazing is mot much better than triple in terms of real world heat loss. However, where triple comes into its own is noise reduction.
