*EDIT* Anna Maria island or St Pete’s Beach? Recommended accommodation
Hi,
We are thinking of flying into Tampa next year and driving down to AMI for a couple of nights after doing Busch gardens and then back Up to Orlando. We were thinking Anna Maria Island as we have stayed in Clearwater a couple of times and fancy a change. I have seen lots of people recommending St Pete's Beach though. Of the two, which would you recommend for a family 2 adults and 2 teenage daughters. Also Has anyone got any recommendations for family accommodation? I’ve had a quick look but not sure on areas to stay or price wise what is good etc as they all seem quite pricey! 😬 Edited at 08:18 PM. |

Hi Ellie, we had the 'dancing dolphin' on boking.com booked for this year but cancelled, this looked the most cost effective and central-ish place, and looks great for a family!

We stayed at the Sunrise Garden Resort when we visited AMI in 2019. The location is perfect at the northern end of the island and the best recommendation I can give it is that we'll probably stop there again the next time we plan a trip.

We have stayed twice at the Bridgewalk, lovely apartments. Would stay there again if we ever get the chance. South end of the island.

We are doing this hopefully in December. Flying into Tampa on 18 Dec and then spending 5 nights in a one bedroom condo in Tortuga Inn, Bradenton Beach rented via VRBO. Really hope we can get there!

We too have stayed at the Sunrise Garden resort. Great location and would stay there again. Only drawback is that it gets full quickly so can be hard to book

We were supposed to be going in July and we had a condo booked on One Particular Harbour which the Jimmy Buffet resort just off AMI. We've now moved it to April 2022. It looks beautiful there.
